Digital preservation for Barcelona Provincial Council
NTT DATA and NTT DATA have been awarded the tender for the implementation of a technological solution for the preservation and publication of the content of the Area of Culture of the Barcelona Provincial Council. This is the first project in which the NTT Data owned Amlad asset, for digital preservation and publication, will be provided in Cloud format, using Microsoft Azure architecture, and providing the client with a Software as a Service (SaaS) model.
The aim of the project is to manage and publish:
- The historical documents from the Library Network,
- The photography archive from the municipalities, and
- The bibliographical records from the Library Network.
The service will be provided for approximately 2 years, with a possible extension for a further two years.
This project allows the generation of the infrastructure necessary to provide the same service typology for other cultural areas, both Spanish and throughout the world, through the generation of economies of scale. thus making our Cloud provision more competitive.
